A microburst, or a monsoon? It's hard to figure Twilight's place in pop culture right now. The vampire series has sold 17 million books, garnered two Entertainment Weekly covers in the past six months and causes mini-riots at actor appearances. But clueless consumers outside the target demographic (mostly young girls) now must know what it feels like for others when comic book movies like The Watchmen garner breathless anticipation. Lead actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson seem caught in a no man's land—both suffocated by expectations and still wondering if their movie will be a hit. The most important question, though, is simple: No matter your age or gender, will the adaptation, out today, be any good?
