For the reformed 'Liar'

Yes Man

Jim Carrey hasn't reached Chris-Rock-describing-Ricky-Martin career depths ("You need a hit like a crackhead needs a hit!") but the '00s haven't been kind to the actor's box office power or his acting chops. So he seeks a turnaround with this big, broad comedy that recalls the high concept success of Liar Liar. Carrey's character looks at a glass-half-empty world, and things change in part after looking into the eyes of Zooey Deschanel. Understandable, really. - Hank Brockett
