A First Look at US Royalty's "Every Summer" Video

Their music has been called a garage-band take on the Beach Boys or a soul-infused Cold War Kids, but comparisons aside, it's clear US Royalty is making waves with a sound and style all their own. They were the most talked about band at this year's South by Southwest (where lead singer John Thornely's style was praised by Men.Style.com).

We caught up with the guys (Thornley and his guitar-playing brother Paul, bassist Jacob Michael and drummer Luke Adams) in their hometown of Washington, DC; filming the video for their single "Every Summer," directed by the stylish filmmaker Jake Davis. The setting, a gritty abandoned garage next to the band's practice studio, had all the makings of good video. (Photos: Valet)

"It's hot, sexy, summertime," said Davis from behind the monitor. "And they're wearing the own clothes. These guys just get it, you know?"

"We shot some scenes out in the middle of nowhere Maryland," said John in between some takes. "It was actually the same spot where we wrote most of the album, so it was cool to go back there now, full circle."
