The Seasonal Swap

You're well into your warm weather wardrobe, so it's time to update your medicine cabinet. Here's what to stock (and what to store) during the summer months ahead.

Stock:

Lightweight Moisturizer

Store: Heavy Facial Cream

Put away the goopy lotion for one formulated for summer. This one comes with just enough sunless tanner to gradually warm that post-winter pallor. But remember that you'll need some SPF eventually.

Kiehl's Facial Fuel, Healthy Bronze, $22.50

Stock:

Grooming Cream

Store: Pomade, Gel and Wax

Switch out your heavy, sticky waxes and pomades that can often melt in the sun for a featherweight cream that conditions hair while keeping it neat.

John Allan's Smoothe, $15

Stock:

Body Wash

Store: Bar Soap

Infused with rosemary and eucalyptus, this tingling, hydrating wash is ideal for sun-parched skin (or overworked muscles). It dissolves sweat and grime, but won't dry out skin like soap. Plus, it doubles as shampoo.

Jack Black Turbo Wash, $8 to $22

Stock:

Toner

Store: Facial Scrub or Pre-Shave Oil

Since the chill isn't sucking your skin dry, a toner will clean and exfoliate your face with the added benefit of eliminating shine. For an added bonus, keep it in the fridge to relieve sunbaked skin.

Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner, $12

  • If you haven't changed out your cologne for something lighter, here's our favorites from the season's latest crop.

The Expertly Packed Carry-On

Question

What should I pack for my first business trip?

- Matt, OH

Answer

With nearly every airline imposing a baggage fee nowadays, if you can get away with flying with just a carry-on, do it.
