The future looks bright. Or rather, in the future, your whites will stay bright. For Electrolux's sixth edition of its Design Lab competition, industrial design students submitted plans for the appliances of tomorrow. Our favorite? The iBasket—a Wi-Fi-equipped hamper that doubles as a compact washing machine—dreamt up by Guopeng Liang of Shanghai's Tongji University. Here's how it works: Say you spend too much time writing about clothes on your men's style website to actually wash your clothes. By weight measurement and time tracking, it automatically calculates the best time to wash your clothes. After a quick and thorough washing, the iBasket alerts you via email or a text message. Sure the name might be a bit iTired, but we'd be happy to offer up our office as a test lab.
