Case Study

Muji, the Japanese maker of all things simple and utilitarian, has long been a favorite of the style set, especially when it comes to luggage. The brand's suitcases have always been durable yet affordable, and their latest introduction takes such qualities to the next level. The new hard shell suitcases are crafted from a lightweight polycarbonate material and lined with nylon and mesh pockets for storing everything you need for a weeklong trip safely and securely. It comes equipped with TSA-approved locks, four rotating wheels and a handlebar that adjusts to fit any height. And the case splits equally into two flat-folding sides which pack up individually—making it easy to share the suitcase with someone on quick trips. It's not quite a Rimowa, but for the price (and Muji's track record with durable, functional design), it's definitely a nice option.
