$799, by Montague
I generally prefer regular bikes to folding ones, partly due to aesthetics, and partly due to maintenance. However, when I found out about the Boston bike from Montague, I was definitely interested. A full-sized bike with 700cc wheels, the aluminum frame is rigged out into Montague's patented folding system—a conversion process that purportedly takes less than 20 seconds. The most attractive aspects of this ride? It's priced at a very reasonable $799, and utilizes a convenient single-speed flip-flop hub. Which means you can switch between the ease of riding with a free wheel, or go for a fixed-gear set-up for better road feel. And, of course, instant street cred.
