Lip Balm

$3, at Drugstore.com

The first lip balms were made from earwax.

Anything that has "kiss" in the name and isn't made of chocolate usually puts me off, but Nivea's "A Kiss of Moisture" lip balm really caught me off guard with how long it lasts. I'll admit, I had to initially borrow it from my girlfriend after I lost the tube of man-friendly Carmex I usually swear by, but it works great. Better than great, even. The weather's getting colder and unless I want to go about my day with dry, flaky lips, finding a lip balm that moisturizes well without tasting like medicine or leaving behind too much gloss is a necessity. Made from a mixture of jojoba oil and shea butter, this stuff goes on once and lasts long. I made it though an entire workday and a happy hour afterwards without feeling like I needed to reapply. And coming from a guy who writes about stuff like this for a living, the last thing I want to admit is when I have to put more lip balm on. Name aside, consider me converted.
