We've expressed our admiration for Outlier before, and they continue to make clothing that's as innovative as it is practical. Their newest release is the Nyco Slim Pant, which is made here in the States from a military grade cotton/nylon blend—originally used for hard-wearing technical M-65 jackets. Thanks to the dense weave, these have a rigid structure that makes them feel more like jeans. This is probably the first pair of chinos we've encountered that actually require breaking in. To make them more comfortable, a gusset has been designed into the pant to accommodate some room to breathe in the crotch area, while the overall silhouette remains office-appropriate. At a price of under $100, we can see many guys opting to nab both colors. After all, that's the price of a new pair of quality raw denim, and with pants like these, you can manage to break them in from 9-5, and every hour after that.
