The Modern Bike Rack

Whether you're a dedicated cyclist or a just a weekend warrior, often the most cumbersome part about owning a bike when you live in an apartment is storing the thing. Often unsightly and inconvenient, no one wants a sterile-looking wall-hook hanging out in their living room, and metallic poles can be a total eyesore when they're not being used. Enter Make by Consult, a design firm that's made a side project out of crafting quality pieces that are as practical as they are good looking. We particularly love this simple wooden bike rack. Made out of solid walnut or maple, a single groove holds your ride while three sturdy mounting screws (covered by bronze screw caps) secure it to your wall. In creating enough space for your ride's handlebars, there's a small flat space that doubles as a convenient place to put things like your keys and other every day carry items.
