J. Press York Street

When it was announced that Ariel and Shimon Ovadia were taking the helm of a new venture by venerable clothier J. Press, menswear enthusiasts rejoiced. The two young designers are known for their appreciation of elegant, timeless staples, with an eye for modern style and a perfect fit. What blew us away when the J. Press York Street line debuted last fashion week was that we were seeing the Ovadia twins really have fun with the notions of American sportswear and the heritage of the brand. Sure, there are conservative oxfords, polos, chinos and navy blazers to satisfy diehard preps, but we're glad that they're not afraid to give new takes on cozier off-duty favorites like sweatpants, graphic T-shirts and surplus-inspired military jackets and bags. Instead of just a slimmer-fitting interpretation of tried-and-true basics, we're treated with a full-on lifestyle collection and seasonal vision, which we think is worth celebrating. Here are a few things on our wish list from the brand's recently launched web shop:

From the left:
Bandana T-shirt, $85; M-65 jacket, $525; Sweatpants, $145 and Army duffle bag, $185

Styling Tip

Finish off the look like the Ovadia brothers did in their debut show, with a pair of Tretorn Nylite canvas sneakers.

$65, at Zappos
