Forget any wives' tales you might've heard from your mother or random salespeople about how horizontal stripes make you look larger than you actually are. They don't. And in fact, woven sport shirts are popping up in all sorts of stripes all of a sudden. These turn the traditional vertical stripes on their side and add a sharp linear contrast to what everyone else is wearing.
