Carson Street's

Slick New Shop

We learned about the changes in the most modern of ways—on our our Instagram feed. Carson Street Clothiers, the popular New York men's shop, was closing up their Crosby Street location. We then learned they were moving to larger space a few blocks away, dropping the "clothiers" from their name and embracing a more modern, designer aesthetic. Carson Street 2.0, if you will.

The rebranded shop reflects the evolving tastes of menswear. "Over the course of three years, our aesthetic was refined personally and professionally and we kind of outgrew the old space," Carson Street co-owner Brian Trunzo told Complex recently. "We're proud to be the harbingers of the #menswear movement ... but as that movement started to change and shift, it was reflective of ourselves as well."

As the product got a bit more sleek and modern, the Carson Street gents felt that the shop should mirror that style. The new flagship, an airy 3,300-square-foot space, has a loft-like vibe. Old school architectural features like soaring columns and a massive skylight mix nicely with a handsome herringbone wood floor and mid-century modern furniture from Mjölk and Token. It's a lot like the blend of styles and designers the store carries. For the guy who first came to Carson Street for a classic navy blazer, he's likely now shopping for a bomber jacket and a pair of joggers.

And for those who can't make it to the redesigned shop, the store's also launched a new website, Carson-Street.com, which offers all the new brands the new shop carries along with a few online exclusives from such brands J.W. Anderson and Craig Green.

Their New Brand

Trunzo, along with Matt Breen and Patrick Doss are launching a new brand, Deveaux, this week at New York Fashion Week: Men's. The fall/winter 2016 collection was inspired by the best-selling novel and hit television program, The Leftovers.
