What We're Wearing

Happy Hour

After a long day, you've earned a few drinks with friends. Show up looking sharp but relaxed in an unlined jacket like J.Crew's new summerweight Ludlow (made with breezy Portuguese cotton from the famed Somelos mill). Finish off your outfit with some washed denim, an easy-going D-ring belt and some durable chukkas that can take getting stepped or spilled on. And since the place will likely be packed, an extra swipe of deodorant can't hurt.

Not So Happy

Massachusetts was one of the first states to implement a ban on happy hours in 1984. That same year, the US military abolished happy hours at military base clubs. In 2015, a 25-year happy hour ban was ended in Illinois.
