Now

Why:

Changing your coat's buttons is like giving it a face lift. It's still the same piece you know and love, just refreshed for today. I recently took my trusty, years-old Schott pea coat out of the hall closet and decided to give it a little update. I wanted buttons that were somewhat military, but not too flashy or "band leader." I found the perfect buttons at New York's M&J trimmings. They're actually the same iconic anchor buttons typically found on a pea coat, but rendered in a cool, matte gold instead of navy plastic. Now, everyone's asking me where I got my new coat.
