The Ideal
Winter Sweater

$185, at
Left Field NYC

New York based Left Field has been making hard-wearing, high quality clothes since 1999. Designed by Christian McCann, the brand's been hip to that old Americana thing since the beginning, producing the entire range in the US from both Japanese and North American fabrics and trims. Their latest product, the Ivy Crew sweater, is exactly what we look for in mid-winter knitwear. The heavy-weight sweater stands up to cold, but it isn't bulky or constricting. In fact, since it's knit from downy-soft Canadian merino wool, it's able to be both soft and slim-fitting. It also has retro details like raglan sleeves, oversize cuffs and a wide-set 1940s era collar. Made the good old fashioned way, in one of the last remaining sweater factories in Queens, it's like finding the perfect vintage sweater ... that's never been worn before.
