Enduring Classic

The M65
Field Jacket

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Martin Scorsese's classic film Taxi Driver, AMC theaters will be bringing the movie back to theaters this weekend for two days only. If you haven't seen it yet, let this be your chance. The story follows troubled taxi driver Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) as he attempts to clean up the mean streets of 1970s New York. A former Marine, Bickle sports such standard-issue pieces as the M65 field jacket throughout the film. The mid-weight jacket replaced the earlier M51 during the Vietnam War and with its stand-up collar, oversized zippers and utilitarian pockets, it's slowly emerged as an icon of masculine style. This lightweight twill version of the classic jacket is ideal for the transition into spring.

$45, at Army Universe
