Boots to Weather Any Storm

We know Bean boots are the go-to foul weather boot for some gents these days, but if you're looking for something lighter and simpler, you could do a lot worse than these Off Shore boots by Seavees. Inspired by the regulation footwear donned by the Navy's shipyard workmen in the 1950s, the lightweight boots are made from natural rubber that remains pliable even in freezing weather. They're lined in fleece, with a leather footbed and rugged rawhide laces. Every seam has been vulcanized so they're 100% waterproof. The retro sole is anti-slip too (of course, that can't be 100% guaranteed).

$115, at Frances May, Need Supply Co. and Unionmade

  • Seavees was
originally launched by B.F. Goodrich in 1964.

- Matt, OH

Answer

With nearly every airline imposing a baggage fee nowadays, if you can get away with flying with just a carry-on, do it.
