When it comes to chinos, you want a pair that's soft, fits well and can be worn with almost everything you have in your closet already. Which is why we're standing behind Gap's new twill slim-fit khakis, which are garment dyed and then washed (and washed, and washed some more) to give them a natural fade and the kind of nonchalant ease ideal for warmer weather. "We treated them exactly as if they were denim," says Gap's designer Patrick Robinson, who had the pants dyed and washed at their indigo facility. "The result creates an easy way to play with color." And speaking of colors, these come in five, from a Nantucket red and sky blue to a more traditional tan and grey. Sport them at the work, on a date or at a backyard barbecue—like your jeans, they'll take on a more personalized appearance the more you wear them.
The pants are available in specific lengths, from 28" to 34".
