Volley

While I'm not exactly in the camp of sporting a pair of Nike's with my dress pants, I'm definitely getting back into the idea of pairing some sneakers with my trousers or more casual suiting. But I want something a little more low key. Something a tad different from the Tretorns, Supergas or Chucks I see on everyone else.

Available in four color combinations. $60 by Volley

Which is why I was glad to discover Volley, an import from Australia. First launched in 1939, the simple shoe has become the country's top selling sneaker of all time. A few years ago, Steven Alan started carrying the Aussie brand's signature "International" model, but I'm more sold on the "O.C." style. Inspired by a traditional yachting shoe, with a sawtooth edged tongue and contrasting sole, it's just been rereleased after a 30-year hiatus. Just in time, if you ask me.

  • Volley will be the official sneaker of Australia's Olympic team this summer in London.
