The Rugby Shirt

As the owner and lead bartender of Cheers, all eyes were always on Sam Malone. Working right smack in the middle of the bar, Malone's wit and charm were on display as well as his cool, casual wardrobe. Along with his signature plaid and stripe button-downs, Malone wore a whole lot of rugby shirts, which happen to be the perfect shirt for fall. Worn with jeans, khakis or cords, the comfortable cotton shirt is a great alternative to the oxfords, sweatshirts and sweaters that usually make appearances during these colder months. Just remember to keep it simple. Like Malone, who left behind his baseball career for America's most beloved bar, it's time to swap the jersey style rugbies for a well-fitted version with modern details like those shown here.

Since Columbiaknit's shirts are actually built for the pitch, they sport functional details like gussets under the arms, rubber buttons and narrow collars that stand up for themselves.
