The V-Neck Sweater
Is Back From the Dead

Forever 21 Contrast Stripe V-Neck Sweater

Contrast stripe V-neck, $22.90 by Forever 21

For the past few years, the V-neck sweater just wasn't cool. It looked dated—too basic and pedestrian. A crewneck looked clean and crisp, which at the time meant it looked very cool. But times have changed. And the V-neck is feeling very fresh as we approach 2018. The shift was seen on the last round of runway shows and now the sweaters are showing up in more mass retailers as well. Of course, this next generation of V-neck knits is a little different than the ones you wore before. These are more relaxed, with a slightly deeper cut collar point. So how do you wear this new-but-old-favorite? Layer it over a T-shirt with some jeans or with a patterned button-down under your suit to add a shot of '70s swagger. Or make like Gosling-at-a-premiere and wear one solo with a pair of dress pants.
