Spring Essential

The Anorak

Simply speaking, an anorak is any windbreaker that's cut with a half-zip and finished with a hood. Sometimes crafted from cotton, but more than likely from nylon these days, it's an old maritime staple that quickly found itself adopted by the sporty prep set and lately, it's become a favorite of the fashion pack. Bold in color and light in weight, not to mention water repellent and breathable, they make for easy, adaptable outerwear for the unpredictable spring weather. Whether thrown over a T-shirt for a weekend bike ride or layered under a blazer with a rumpled oxford and tie, it's the kind of jacket that works in any situation and can be worn from now until October.
