Men's Journal has an introduction to Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, a new special edition of the Tennessee whiskey. The legendary singer was a well-known Bourbon man and according to his son, Frank Sinatra Jr., "Jack was my father's drink of choice." So when the brand approached him about creating a special blend to honor his father, Junior headed to Lynchburg. To make Sinatra Select, distillers "carved cuts into the oak barrels to increase surface area and darken the flavor." That whiskey was then blended with normally aged bourbon. "The result has a less spiky flavor than your typical bottle."
