The Airstream's Comeback
NPR tells us something that we all sort of already knew. Airstream trailers are cool again. Vintage ones definitely have that old school Americana appeal, but the company is still manufacturing new trailers out of Jackson Center, Ohio. And while you can pay upwards of $100,000 for a new one, the silver bullet's production is at its highest level since the 1970s, and travel trailer sales this year alone are up 33 percent. And here's an interesting fact: "Almost 70 percent of all Airstreams ever built are still on the road today."
The approximate number of hands-on hours required to build the average Airstream.
