

I've acquired plenty of cherished objects over the years, but I've never been a collector. Yet now I'm considering collecting Blue Note jazz albums from the '50s and '60s—on vinyl, of course. That means getting a turntable and probably facing a lot of ruthless eBay competition. Still, I can think of few other inanimate objects that emit such an aura of cool. In the meantime, I'm contenting myself with CDs, like Lee Morgan's Volume 2.
