Mister Freedom
x Palladium

No one loves old school denim or military style quite like Christophe Loiron, the French expat who owns and operates LA's famed Mister Freedom. So when the idea of a collaboration with Palladium was brought to Loiron last year, he jumped at the chance to work with the nearly century-old French brand  (which originally made tires for military aircraft). Loiron's inspiration was a photo of his father back in 1956, serving in the French military in Algeria, wearing a pair of Palladium jungle boots. The end result is a take on the traditional canvas Pallabrousse boot, but cut from old stock American-made selvedge denim, lined with vintage cotton stripe twill and trimmed with olive drab taping. True to Mister Freedom's acute attention to detail, there are even authentic military markings stamped inside. The pair here is Loiron's personal pair, which he's been wearing over the last few months. Yours will come raw and ready for action.

- Matt, OH

Answer

With nearly every airline imposing a baggage fee nowadays, if you can get away with flying with just a carry-on, do it.
