Once a Classic, Always a Classic

During Milan fashion week earlier this year, the New York Times credited such lines as Haversack and United Arrows' Chamoshita for fueling a movement coined "the New Japanese Dandyism"—a natty reinterpretation of an arm-chair scholar aesthetic with checkered sport jackets, bright socks and an English shoe. Haversack's weathered cotton cardigan, among the first of their products available in the states, exists "somewhere between your favorite sweater and favorite hoodie" as Open Ceremony, Haversack's first American vendor, puts it. In their most classic films, Michael Caine and Steve McQueen donned similar shawl collars and cemented the look as uniquely American. Wear it with conviction—these sleeves are stitched with a subtle nod to dandies past, protagonists of intellect and action. - Akash Goel

  • Haversack took its company name from the linen and wool shoulder bag used by the American Army.
