In the Pink

While some snobs might turn up their noses, we consider rosé the official wine of summer. Served chilled, the slightly dry vino is crisp and almost thirst-quenching. On a hot day, you can find yourself gulping it down by the glass simply because it feels so damn good to drink. But you can actually sip it with dinner as well since it pairs nicely with pizzas, salads and basically anything off the grill. And the best part is that they're made to be drunk young, which means you can often find quality rosé for surprisingly affordable prices. So go ahead, be a man and grab a pink bottle.

Four to Try

Santi Infinito Rosé, $8

This subtle, yet refreshing Italian blend has a citrusy tang and an almond sweetness.

El Coto de Rioja Rosé, $11 / $8

A Spanish "country style" wine with fresh fruit flavors and a crisp piquant acidity.

Les Vignerons de Correns Rosé, $14

An easy drinking French wine with dried berry flavors and a slight peppery finish.

Chateau de Roquefort Corail Rosé, $17

A light French wine from Provence with hints of herbs and an Earthy mineral finish.

While some rosé is a blend of red and white wines, others are made by crushing grapes and then removing the skins after three days.
