Duckie Brown

Spreads Their Wings

It was a seemingly unconventional partnership. Florsheim, the venerable American shoe company and Duckie Brown, the edgy menswear label by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver. The Duckie boys, though, have always had a thing for twisting the conventional. But when images of the shoes—in quirky colors with ironic details—first surfaced, some wondered how they'd fare in real life. "The whole point of a collaboration is to do something different and show a new take on a classic," says Ilaria Urbinati, the stylist and co-owner of LA's Confederacy, who scored a two-month exclusive on the line. The collection includes revamped styles like Florsheim's signature Riza loafer but Urbinati's torn on a favorite. "It's between the brogue boot, which looks like something Oliver Twist would wear and kick your ass in," she laughs. "And the laceless wing tips which are perfect for summer, without socks of course." We couldn't agree more.

$175 to $595, available now at Confederacy, LA and in August at Barneys stores nationwide
