{06.11.12} How Tos

The Simple Summer Cut

"Your upkeep should be as simple as possible in the warmer months," says the Blind Barber's Jeff Laub. "Keep your sides short and tight, and the top trim—it not only looks cleaner and feels cooler, but you'll sweat less." Sometimes referred to as simply the "college cut" or "college boy," it's a timeless look, but one that also feels very much right now. Clipped close around the sides and scissored short with a little texture on top, it's tidy without looking fussy—the hair can be parted or simply pushed forward. It's a cut that looks good on just about every hair type and ethnicity because it conforms to the shape of your head. Not to mention, it makes for a quick morning routine and cool head throughout the day.

How to: Explain It
Ask your barber to taper the sides with clippers. The top should be textured, no longer than three fingers at the bangs and gradually get shorter towards the crown.
