$6 at Hickoree's Hard Goods
Hickoree's Hard Goods is quickly becoming a go-to spot for all sorts of hard to find goods you never knew you always wanted. The latest item we unearthed? A Japanese soap, emblazoned with a cow and labeled in varsity lettering. "It's a really nice, basic bar of soap," says owner Emil Corsillo, who runs the shop (along with The Hill-Side) with his brother Sandy. "Like their version of Ivory." It came by way of their partner in Japan, who sends over goods he thinks the brothers Corsillo might find interesting. Like a bovine-branded bar of soap. But this is no novelty—Cow Beauty Soap has been around for a century. And for good reason. Made from a mix of milk and essential oils, the subtle jasmine-scented suds softened skin without leaving behind any grimy film and made quick work of a rather permanent-looking concert hand stamp. Sure beats that bar of Irish Spring.
