Get a Grip

When it comes to keeping your hands warm, there's no shortage of options. But it's hard to compete with a classic pair of driving gloves. The design is not just masculine, but practical too. After all, knit gloves are fine, but good luck trying to grab your iPhone, keys or even a door handle without letting it slip through your woolen fingers. Thankfully, options abound this winter, from old-school, perforated versions by J.Press and Barneys to slim styles (without the holey knuckles) by Orvis or Mario Portolano—who's mustard yellow pair seem destined for the breast pocket of a top coat once safely indoors.

  • Until 1950, nearly all gloves sold in the US were made in Gloversville, a small town in upstate New York.

Biased advice: Remove your glove when shaking someone's hand.

Answer

Type A? Tough guy to shop for, we'd imagine. But a good case for his beloved iPad is both practical and stylish.
