Neutrogena's Healthy Skin ($11, at Drugstore.com) is a retinol moisturizer with multivitamins that "smoothes and hydrates skin while promoting cell turnover" and reducing imperfections.
It's labeled an anti-wrinkle cream, which means we likely never would've picked it up in the first place. But after several people in the grooming business mentioned that it was something they always used, we figured it was worth a shot. Hypoallergenic and free of oil and alcohol, it's also completely free of any fragrances. After a morning shower, dry your face and apply a jellybean's worth. There's a momentary tingle at times, thanks to the retinol (a pure form of Vitamin A), which exfoliates dead skin.
The cream is thick, but lightweight. And it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it greasy or shiny. We're not concerned about wrinkles, but in just a few days, your skin feels smoother. And soon, you'll notice the retinol works to keep pores unclogged from dead skin and oil—a big benefit in warmer months. Your complexion starts to look clearer and blemishes disappear. In short, it just makes your skin look damn good. There's also an SPF 15 built in, so it's ideal for everyday use.
