Q&A

Photographer
Jeremy Kost has shot everyone from Lindsay Lohan to the art world crowd in his gritty Polaroids.

Question

What's your go-to camera?

Answer

Either the Spectra or the 600.

Are you hoarding?

I'm buying as much as I can at a time, but it's become so expensive. Prices went up 300 percent!

What are you up to now?

A show at Light and Sie Gallery in Dallas and one at Conner Contemporary in Washington, DC next month. Also, my newly launched site.

Polaroid
2.0

Everyone looks better in Polaroids. The hazy hues and fuzzy exposure lend an air of cool, casual ease you don't get in any other form. And there's a tactile memento you can actually hold, not just post on Facebook. But the days of shakin' it like a Polaroid picture are numbered, so the company's innovating with their new PoGo printer. The handheld device spits out business card-sized photos from your cell phone or digital camera (unfortunately, the iPhone isn't compatible). Some early reviewers complained that the print colors "aren't totally accurate." But that's the point, isn't it?

$150, at Target and Best Buy.
