Made in Maine

The family-owned Eastland Shoe company, based in Freeport, Maine, has been churning out classic boots and moccasins for 55 years. To celebrate their anniversary, they're hopping on the heritage train with a "Made in Maine, USA" collection of throwback styles sewn entirely by hand and eye by local shoe craftsmen. The suede Caribou boot seems like a particularly good choice for autumn (rest assured, no actual caribous were harmed in its making).  One of fall's most buzzed about new lines when it debuted on the trade show circuit a few months back,  the limited edition footwear is now hitting shelves and, if you can wait a week or two, the web.
