Boot Straps

We said it before, and we'll say it again: If you want great styles inspired by the military, don't go the designer route.  Find a good surplus store. WPG, a recent discovery by one of our editors, sells all types of archival tactical wares made for military men both here and abroad. These jodhpur boots were once standard issue for British officers stationed in India. American soldiers started buying them as well and both brought the boots back to their respective countries. These new reproductions are made to spec from a rich cognac leather with a full calfskin lining. A padded footbed ensures the boots are comfortable enough to wear all day and the classic style and affordable price make it nearly impossible not to want to. Though originally worn with a uniform, they'll look great with your favorite jeans as well as a charcoal or navy suit.

$165, at Onlinemilitaria.net

  • This style was the
    precursor to the Chelsea boot.
