Sperry Top-Sider originated their signature boat shoe in 1935 and in the decades since, the Massachusetts-based brand has manufactured them for everyone from the US Navy to preppy and sporting gents of all ages. But just because the classic design hasn't needed much improvement for the past 78 years, doesn't mean the brand is against experimentation. And we've got to hand it to them for introducing a handful of slick new interpretations of our favorite seasonal slip-on. "We focused a lot of this spring's design concepts on infusing our boat shoe DNA with new premium executions—incorporating rich leather linings and new uppers along with some memory foam for added comfort," says Ryan Sax, Sperry Top-Sider's senior product line manager. "The team's focused on keeping our heritage fresh and relevant by modernizing the designs and materials—like the Boat Lite, which is our way of infusing a featherweight feel with a new 'mash up' style."
