For a label rooted in heritage, Hamilton Shirts—founded in Houston, Texas back in 1883—isn't afraid to mix things up in a modern way. Yes, they still make all their wares in the United States, hand cut and sewn by old world craftsmen. But they also travel around the world, sourcing unique fabrics for fresh takes on classics, like their popular camo button-down. They're latest experiment? A refined chambray shirt with metal buttons, able to be dressed up or down with the swap of a collar, officially on sale tomorrow. "The idea was to provide versatility to a timeless style," says co-owner David Hamilton. "By changing or removing the collar on this it can be worn a few different ways. This detachable collar is also an update of—historically speaking—a very classic shirt, which had removable collars for cleaning and starching." What's more, the collar choice is pitch perfect for today. Sport a knit tie with the white spread collar, wear the standard chambray with an unlined blazer or leave them off and layer the band collar under a cardigan. Yes, it's an investment. But it's like getting three quality shirts for the price of one.
