The New Shoes on Our Radar

From a buzzed-about update on a classic to a wild hybrid sneaker

Is it time to re-evaluate the shoes in your closet? Maybe this list will help get you going in the right direction. There are so many great styles dropping these days, we thought we would pull a few of our current favorites to showcase. From Chris Echevarria’s first Sperry drop and some hybrid sneakers to some seriously cozy boots, these are the shoes our team can’t stop talking about.

Captain’s Oxford

We were waiting for this collection ever since Sperry announced that they'd made the Blackstock & Weber founder their new creative director. Echevarria didn't disappoint with his first collection and, if you ask us, these were the star of the lineup. This archival design was the original shoe design produced by Paul Sperry, but it's been updated for 2024 in a tonal colorway, cut from premium “hairy suede”, which looks (and feels) even better in person. Handcrafted in Maine, they're finished with a Vibram lug sole and will look just as good with your winter wardrobe as they will come spring.

Shadow 6000
Moc Sneaker

In theory, you might not think this would work. It's like the lovechild of a sneaker and a Wallabee. But the moc-toe construction of this Saucony Shadow, finished with a gum wrapper sole, feels very fresh. It's half moccasin, half sneaker, and a 100% game-changer. And bonus, it's now on sale.

Flannel-Lined
Engineer Boot

Has all this bad weather lately made you rethink your current boot lineup? It certainly has us looking for even more sturdy (and warm) options, which led us to L.L. Bean's newest take on their signature Bean Boots. The Engineer style is lined in premium flannel, insulated for extra-cozy warmth and handsewn in Maine. Plus, they look as good with everything from jeans and chinos to workwear pants.

Strummer Chukka

These are some badass chukkas. Every detail has been considered and then made a little more special. The suede is a rich shade of inky indigo blue, the laces are threaded through rugged metal D-ring eyelets and the whole shoe sits atop a white Vibram Christy wedge sole. Bench-made in England, these are modern boots that are made the old-fashioned way—built to last.

Chuck 70 Hi-Top

If you don't look closely you might miss the fact that these aren't your average Chuck Taylors. In fact, they're a collaboration with Stüssy. The all-black hemp upper has a cool combination of tonal and contrast stitching and unvarnished foxing. The end result blends archival Converse style with Stüssy's West Coast DNA—a nod to the original hemp Chucks from the '90s.
