Styling Tip

Keep in mind that in most situations,
a brown leather jacket calls for brown leather shoes.

An Unlikely Collaboration

The café racer jacket is like the double rider Perfecto's British cousin. Named after the motorcycle riders who stripped down their bikes to the bare minimum in order to achieve more speed, the simple jacket is equally sleek—designed with a simple zip placket and a lone snap button at the neck. This version from Schott was made in collaboration with a totally unexpected company: Restoration Hardware. Washed and distressed for a rugged, pre-loved look, it takes more than 40 steps to construct each piece. Of course, they're made in the USA, and fitted with authentic hardware from Talon, the company that invented the zipper. Which, when you think about implementing period zippers into the jackets, makes perfect sense why this collaboration works. While it's available in black, we prefer the brown. When you think of icons like Indiana Jones and MacGyver, it's evident that brown is the color of the thinking man's badass.
