The Bomber Sweater

Every year about this time, most of us menswear folk start itching to put on some layers. Partly due to the weather (cooler nights and late summer showers), but more because we're just tired of wearing our summer gear. And when it comes to autumnal clothes, you can't beat a sturdy cardigan. And this one, from Steven Alan, is the best one we've seen so far. Cut in the shape of a bomber jacket—cropped at the waist with a ribbed collar and cuffs—the tailored sweater has a look that's at once old school and completely modern. Knit in three colors, from a mix of smooth, soft cashmere and naturally water-resistant wool, it's a piece that can be dressed up or down for any forecast. And while it's a bit of an investment, you can easily wear this until next summer.
