White Tee

Worn underneath the uniform of your daily grind, or on the couch on your days off, the plain white T-shirt's place within your wardrobe is on par with your underwear; it's a necessity. Many would consider it to be the foundation of an outfit, but in some cases it's the only thing you'll be wearing on top. Something as classic as the white tee has been done countless times, countless ways, and it's so universal that you'll likely want more than one (even Hanes knows to put their undisputed classic version in packs of three at your local big box store). You're likely to have your own preference on how you like your white tees to fit overall, but when buying something this basic, keep in mind that it's likely going to see regular use. If you're buying white tees to wear underneath your button ups, then it's a much smarter to buy seasonally and on the cheaper end; the opposite holds true if you're the type who wants simple, but quality, basic tees. So here are some of the best options out there, in a range of prices.

Club Monaco

Cut from a soft but substantial 100% cotton fabric and featuring a not-too-long length, it’s the kind of shirt that easily can be worn on its own.

Crafted in the US from a fine, lightweight jersey this comfortable tee is finished with a slim banded collar and slightly shorter than average sleeves.

Made with specially sourced long-staple Egyptian cotton, these are fairly lightweight yet durable. Plus, the higher armholes fit nicely under your top shirts.

Style Tip

Don't be afraid to yank at the hems or collars to stretch out your T-shirt a bit before wearing. That's what stylists do for photo shoots to get that slinky, relaxed look. Simply toss it in the washer to reset the shape.
