Going Rogue

When John Bartlett met Alex Carleton of Rogues Gallery at a mutual friend's party, small talk quickly blossomed into an unlikely partnership. Both designers decided their penchants for  70s-graphics and lumberjack-inspired style would make a great collaboration. The RG/JB holiday collection launches tonight at Bartlett's Greenwich Village shop in New York. So far, we've seen black and white graphic tees featuring animals like bears and roosters, but coming down the pipeline are a trim pique polo, and—wait for it—a seasonally appropriate union suit! No word yet on whether the onesie will have flaps in the rear, but you can definitely expect more accessories evoking New England, and premium leather goods which range from the quirky (a log carrier) to the pragmatic (banker's envelopes and this handsome, handcrafted gym bag). - Jian DeLeon

Available at John Bartlett, 143 7th Ave., New York

  • The union suit, patented in 1868, was traditionally red. Thus, the button-up rear hatch was known as a "fireman's flap."
