How to pack the essential carry-on bag.
Once upon a time, Patagonia, the eco-conscious outdoor outfitter, sold a clever travel bag that was a hybrid duffle and garment bag. Clothes were hung (on the hanger) inside the bag while shoes and other necessities were tucked into pragmatic pouches. Dubbed the burrito bag, it was then rolled into thirds, hugging everything together tightly while keeping your suit and other items virtually wrinkle-free. But then the bag stopped being sold and became a treasured eBay find. Facebook groups later formed and lobbied for its return. The company got hip to the demand and has just rereleased the Burrito, crafted from lightweight, indestructible polyester (100-percent recycled from soda bottles and, we imagine, worn out polar fleece). With four zippered compartments, a large mesh pouch for shoes and toiletries and enough room for eight suit hangers, it's got you covered whether you're on the road for a weekend or a week.
