JH: I'm all about the leather jacket. Day or night, whatever the occasion, it works.

How do you pass the time on long drives like this?

Lots of snacks. The good part about traveling with your business partner is that there's plenty of time out of the office to catch up. Things are so freakin' busy, we don't have much time to just sit and talk.

Excellent Adventure

Designers Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos are going on a cross-country tour of various Barneys CO-OPs in hopes of documenting "the eclecticism of the quintessential Shipley & Halmos customer." That means you—as they'll be snapping pictures of shoppers and compiling them for a book to be released this fall. The "Fill In The Blank" Tour kicked off last night in New York and ends in Seattle on August 26 (complete schedule PDF). Valet caught up with Mr. Halmos just before the duo departed for Boston.
