Before his untimely death in 2016, Prince was working on a memoir—the story of how Prince became Prince—a first-person account of a Minnesota kid absorbing the world around him. The book would walk through Prince creating a persona, an artistic vision, and a life before the hits and fame that would come to define him. The Beautiful Ones gives readers a closer look into the rock star's life through scrapbook entries, lyric sheets and photographs, detailing everything from his humble roots as Prince Rogers Nelson to his entry into the industry as a young musician and through his final days.
