3 Reasons Why
You Should Sleep Naked

Ditch the drawers when hitting the hay.

According to a national sleep study, only eight percent of Americans sleep in the nude. And if you're in the 92% not stripping down before bed, you may want to reconsider. Not only does it feel awesome to let it all hang out between the sheets, it's also good for your health. Here are three solid reasons to ditch the drawers at night.

You'll get more
from your sleep

Sleeping in pajamas, clothes or even just underwear can add unnecessary warmth. And when you're overheated during sleep, your body doesn't produce adequate melatonin and growth hormones, both of which are important for repair and anti-aging, according to the doctors at the National Sleep Foundation. Sleeping in the buff helps ensure that your body temperature doesn't get too high. They say it could even lead to longer, deeper sleep.

It raises your
sperm count

A new study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, tracked the underwear choices and sperm quality of 500 men for up to one year. It found that those who wore boxers during the day and slept naked had 25 percent less damage to the DNA in their sperm, compared with those who wore briefs day and night. Researchers advised those looking to boost sperm count to wear loose-fitting boxers during the day and nothing at night.

You'll improve your
sex life (and psyche)

If you regularly go to bed with a partner, sleeping nude will definitely bring you closer. Skin-on-skin contact with another person triggers the release of the hormone oxytocin in your brain. This reduces stress levels, lowers blood pressure and makes you feel more connected to the other person, increasing your sex drive. And the fact that you're already naked helps get things started.
