How to Wash Workout Clothes
The dos and don'ts of laundering space-age performance gear.
We've long been fans of Ariel and Shimon Ovadia's ever-evolving label Ovadia & Sons. One of our favorite moves as of late is their expansion into sporty, technical pieces. Under the label Ovadia+, the pieces are thoughtfully designed with clever details and are cut in cool, modern silhouettes that make you look and feel like a badass. Everything's made from top of the line performance fabrics that wick away moisture and regulate body temperature. But, of course, all that cool comes at a price.
Which is why we're stoked to see that Ovadia+ has just partnered with GapFit on a limited-edition capsule collection of gear engineered for the gym but still good looking enough to wear around on the weekend. "We kept the same vision [as Ovadia+], Track jacket, $89.95; Checker print joggers, $89.95; Checker print shorts, $59.95; all at the Gap Track jacket, $89.95; Checker print joggers, $89.95; Checker print shorts, $59.95; all at the Gap which is to make pieces guys (or girls) can wear in or out of the gym and mix in with their everyday wardrobe," the brothers recently told GQ.
That won't be too difficult considering the collection is chockfull of streetwear-inspired pieces with retro graphics (think '80s influenced checkerboard patterns and racing stripes) and made with such fabrics as French terry and merino wool that feel as good as they look. And just because the pieces are reasonably priced doesn't mean they slouched on the details. Flatlock seams, smart mesh panels for ventilation and sleek reflective graphics are all present and accounted for. The collection just dropped, but we're not sure how long the pieces will stay in stock.
