The Measure of a Man

In an effort to answer an enduring question, researchers mounted one of the largest, most definitive penis-size studies in history. The study, which was just published in the British Journal of Urology International, asked more than 15,500 men from Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States to strip down and be measured in order to find the true "average penis size." And the findings:

Flaccid

Length

3.6"

Girth

3.7"

Erect

Length

5.16"

Girth

4.6"

The numbers should help "reassure the majority of men that the size of their penis is in the normal range", said one British researcher. Of course, the study did note that these studies had a potential flaw—all the participants volunteered to be measured, which may skew the results toward men who "were more confident." So some mystery remains. But on the bright side, the study found no significant correlation between penis size and shoe size or other comparisons like penis length and index finger length. The Guardian has more details.

FYI

According to the study, just 2.28% of the population has an abnormally large or small penis.
